19th September

Goodwood Revival. Friday to Sunday near Chichester.  We were able to walk each day from our friends home  along public footpaths, across a field and we were at the entrance in 20mins.

Amazing range of cars from 1938 to 1960’s. As ever very  well organised. Thousands  attending with many in period costume from the war years. Range of high end “shops” selling all things motoring, displays and refreshment areas. Weather perfect.

We were sitting beside camera man Alistair from Wales. Of course had to have a go. Became good pals after  three days and as only kiwis  do Alastair was invited  to come and stay  in  N Z. A reciprocal invitation from Swansea.

Today was The Queen’s funeral. BBC started coverage at 7.30am. We kept our friend company for a couple of hours of the spectacle.
Astounding pageantry as only the British do. Bank holiday here with even supermarkets closed with signage honouring ER11.
A time never to be repeated.
